SmartBank is looking to bring on a finance intern for this summer (with the potential opportunity to stay on in the school year). Ideally this student is a junior with a graduation date in May 2022. I can’t speak to the student’s definite job responsibilities but it will likely include peer comp analysis, exposure to valuation processes, and exposure to many bank specific processes (capital stress testing, interest rate risk modeling, etc.). My experience has been incredibly helpful for refining my financial analysis skills, overall market knowledge, and data analysis techniques. The student should be knowledgeable with excel/powerpoint and have an interest in finance/banking. If they have experience with Bloomberg that is a major plus but not required. We use Capital IQ / S&P Market Intelligence for data analysis and it is functionally very similar to Bloomberg. Feel free to give out my contact information if the students have additional questions, I am happy to speak with them, and I will likely be helping them get started this summer and potentially supervising projects.
